This stream ensures that RISA-funded activities are inclusive and equitable. It integrates gender equality, disability inclusion, and broader social inclusion considerations into research design, implementation, and impact, so that benefits reach marginalized and underrepresented groups.

The Partnerships stream focuses on building and managing strong relationships with research institutions, governments, private sector actors, and communities. Its aim is to foster collaboration, align incentives, and ensure that diverse stakeholders are engaged in co-creating and using research outcomes.

Pathways to Scale is about turning research and innovation into real-world impact. This stream supports strategies that help successful ideas move beyond pilots, influencing policy, markets, and systems so that evidence-based solutions can be adopted and sustained at scale.

The Research Quality stream strengthens research capacity and credibility within African research systems, addressing low capacity, limited global recognition, and weak uptake. It supports rigorous, visible research by reinforcing core pillars such as governance and dissemination to enable real-world impact.
