How the RISA Fund grant will be used

The University of Rwanda project will establish an IoT and AI research incubator, which will facilitate existing and new IoT solutions for businesses and commercialization.  The incubator will first focus on agriculture IoT and AI  and can later be scaled to other applications. The project will also provide technical assistance in analysis of new ideas, building proof of concept, conducting technical training in prototyping development and commercialization of the final products.

This project is aimed at developing technology-based solutions to some of the most pressing development challenges in Rwanda. The call for innovation ideas is already out and there are indications that the most innovative ideas will get supported through the project.

It is being implemented in collaboration with ICT chamber- Rwanda and NARADA.
