About Katapult

Katapult is an investment company focused on highly scalable climate impact tech startups. Their world-class accelerator programmes strengthen investment in startups. Their investments and accelerators are currently organised around three key verticals: Ocean, Climate (land), and Africa.

How the RISA Fund grant will be used

Katapult’s project will develop an accelerator and pre-accelerator programs to support African pre-seed/seed stage start-ups to scale and grow their climate technology innovations and strengthen synergies between the research and innovation ecosystems.

It seeks to grow and develop an impactful entrepreneurship ecosystem, and reach more people and places with its impactful products and services. It also has country priorities, including enhancing the commercialisation of research in Rwanda.

There will be stakeholder and ecosystem engagements with Smart Africa, Tony Blair Institute, Norrsken Foundation, and the African Management Institute.
